The Tall Ships are Coming!!!
HIP Club’s April event will take place in Galveston, TX on April 13th where we will have an opportunity to photograph several truly magnificent ships from yesteryear. Join us at Fish Tales at 11:30 am for lunch and sea worthy cocktails if you desire. Reservations are under HIP Club, and are for the outside deck along the rails. This should give us a view of the seawall and the ships as they pass to the west along Seawall Blvd. You will want to bring some sunscreen, your walking shoes and a long lens if you have one.
These ships should keep a distance of approximately 500 feet during this Parade of Sail. They will travel westward to 34th street, turn around, and head back east for a second opportunity to photograph them. You may choose to stay for the festival that begins Friday April 14, through Sunday. Festival tickets are $25 for entry. Please go to galvestonhistory.org to view the amazing ships that will participate, and to follow the other events associated with the festival. You might even be able to become a crew member and sail on one of these tall ships!!
