Field trip to photograph the Zoo Lights at night.
Zoo Lights starts at 6PM and there was a long line on Thursday night. At 8 when we left there was no line. Maybe we should gather for a bite before the zoo and let the lines go away.
Meet for dinner at 5:30 and then go over to the zoo. People need to buy tickets ($20) in advance so they do not stand in two lines, one to get tickets and then one to get into the zoo.
How about Shanghai River, 2407 Westheimer, south side of street between Shepard and Kirby, at 5:30 PM. No parking issues here and will have them do separate checks. Otherwise meet at Zoo at 7PM. Parking is a bear so be prepared.
The Houston Zoo is transformed into a winter wonderland! TXU Energy Presents Zoo Lights celebrates its sixth year as one of Houston’s most well-loved holiday traditions. Sip hot chocolate as you stroll through the beautiful Houston Zoo grounds and take in the sights and sounds of the season – including more than two million lights! Fifteen miles of earth-friendly LED lighting illuminate our ancient oak trees and decorate the paths to light your way.
