July Challenge – Red and the Biondo Method

July 9

The themes for our July meeting are “Red” and the “Biondo Method”. One of Brenda Biondo’s methods (as Geoffrey showed us) is to make a picture, print it, cut out some of it and then make another picture through the opening.  See here for an example of taking a picture of a blue sky, cutting two rectangles out of it and then making another picture of the sky with clouds through the cut outs.

The Purpose of Our Photography Themes: I believe Corey stated this well, “I think the challenges are most valuable when they challenge us to learn something new, or break out of a rut, or go someplace we wouldn’t ordinarily go, or generally do something to grow as artists and photographers.”

Prints:  Try to print and bring to the meeting at least one of your photos you are submitting for the Member Photography Discussion. A number of members did do this at our last few meetings, which provides for some interesting thoughts.
