Fort Hood Family Portrait Project

November 2 - November 5

It that great time again to give back to those that serve our country in the military at Fort Hood.  We will be creating family memories for the military families stationed in the Fort Hood area and for ourselves.  We will set up multiple studios at the Hobby Family Center on the fort and hope to do between 300 and 400 portraits, retouch and deliver to the families before we leave on Sunday afternoon.

To do this we really need all hands on deck.  This means we need you , your significant other  and your photographic friends to help make it happen.  Although this is billed as a HIP Club effort all are welcome to help make it happen smoothly. We can use the help of non-photo people as well.

The plan is to arrive the evening of Thursday, Nov2 and go to the fort Friday morning for a group activity on the fort.  The activity has not been set in stone at this time but we will see some part of the Army there and make photographs for ourselves.  We will set up the studios and computer/retouching room in the early afternoon and make portraits from 3PM to 7PM.  Sat we will go from 8AM until 7PM and on Sunday 8:30AM to 2PM.  We will tear down the equipment and head back home.  It is a busy weekend but worth every minute of every day.

We are using the Comfort Inn and Suites, 1816 Martin Luther King Jr Dr, Copperas Cove, TX 76522, (254) 518-8840 at a rate of $75.00 per night. This will include a “Hot” breakfast.  The USO takes very good care of us during the weekend with food and drink all day long at the Hobby Center.

If you cannot come for the entire weekend then please come and be a part of this experience for the time you can be there. Please join us for a wonderful weekend of giving back to those to put their lives on the line for us every day. Each of us pays our own expenses.  We will send out a list of those participating so we can share rooms and carpool to increase the fun and save on cost.

Please email Alan Montgomery, alan@woodallen.com or my new email agmhtx@gmail.com to let me know your availability and what you would like to do while involved.  We need retouchers, photographers, posers, make-up and wardrobe help and many other things task that help make it happen.
