This year’s annual Fort Hood Family Portrait Project event took place Nov 3-5. The event was a great success. The USO provided some fun and interesting activities on day 1. We took a tour of the Army K9 unit and saw demonstrations of some really talented dogs (and their handlers) sniffing out explosives and performing an attack. Then we toured the Air Assault facility where we watched the soldiers repel down their tower. The weekend was full of lots of families getting their portraits. It was a hot weekend and in spite of the lack of air conditioning we had a fun, educational and rewarding experience. Many thanks to the USO, the portrait teams, retouchers and the people providing support.
